What is Enriched Air?
When divers refer to Enriched air or Nitrox as it's known they are referring to breathing air enriched with oxygen. Normal compressed air contains 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen. When using Enriched air the percentage of the Oxygen in the mixed is increased and the percentage of Nitrogen in the mix is decreased. By divers breathing Nitrox they can increase their dive time in depths around the 20-25 metre mark.
What does the Enriched Air diver course consist of?
During the Enriched Air diver course the diver will learn the benefits and drawbacks when diving with Nitrox. In addition to this the diver will learn how to plan Nitox dives using Enriched air dive tables or a Enriched air dive computer, working our maximum operating depths and the risks of exceeding the maximum operating depths. The course also has a paratactical element which covers how to analyse your Enriched air blend as well as two open water dives with a typical Nitrox blend.
Once the course is completed what can I dive to?
Once the diver has completed the Enriched air course they will be able to obtain, and execute Enriched air dives using a maximum blend of 40% Oxygen and 60% Nitrogen. However commonly used blends tend to lower in Oxygen.
Everything is included in the price of €180.00 However we would recommend. That you have a Dive computer if you require one we can rent you one for the course at an additional €20
