The Ledlenser KIDSLIGHT series is brand new for 2022 and offers child friendly lighting with safety features, accompanied by fun designs.
A white LED provides a maximum brightness output of 40 lumens at maximum output as well as a low white output and a beam range of up to 9 metres. There is also a red LED and a blue LED which provides multiple modes. The light is operated using the two push buttons on top, with the right button cycling through white low, white high and off with each press or the left button cycling red, red blink, blue, blue blink, red/blue alternate blink and off with each press.
To prevent the headlamp being on for a prolonged time unnecessarily it has an automatic turn off function which will turn the lamp off after 20 minutes of being on. This feature can be turned on or off to suit the individuals needs.
A safety headband helps keep children from harm by releasing underload as it is not a complete loop. The two ends of the headband are threaded through a stopper which can be pressed in to manually adjust the size of the headband to fit the head, and will not move unless force is applied.
The KIDLED2 is powered using one AAA alkaline battery which are economic and easily available. For safety purposes the battery compartment has a screw to prevent it from opening easily and requires an adult to use a small + screwdriver to access the battery compartment to change the battery. A battery is included and fitted in the torch, and the clear isolation strip needs to be pulled out of the torch before first use.
As well as being used on the head, the light can also be removed from the headband and can be attached to clothing or a backpack with the metal clip on the back of the light. This is a useful for using the light as a signal light with the red or blue settings for visibility when travelling as a group at night while on holiday or travelling through a campsite perhaps.
